All three of those traits are apparent in 'Killing Ground' which turned out to be a surprisingly enjoyable experience. I didn't go into the film with a lot of hope, simply because it looked low-budget and I am finder it harder and harder to come across good quality, low-budget films. It really pleasantly surprised me however.

(Killing Ground) is a brutal survival film but not completely gratuitous as say a film like hostel because most of the torture and rape were implied but done off camera, but there is still enough shown that was shocking ,effective and horrifying The acting was so believable , I hated the villains and rooted for most of the victims.

You are gripped by the variety of characters that are introduced and by the vivid depiction of Sicily and Palermo. It seems Mr. Seymour likes to write big fat books about the mafia because this one, the "Killing Ground", "The Collaborator" and his other one, "The Untouchable" are almost all 500 to 600 pages long. But, I don't mind reading them!
